Waterfalls and Other Water Features
Waterfalls and other aquatic landscaping elements can make your pond landscape an impressive paradise all the while oxygenating the water and thereby keeping the pond water healthy.
Waterfalls are popular as they not only enhance the beauty of your landscaping but add a soothing-to-the-ear trickling effect. Many pond landscaping kits provide complete accessories and directions to set up a waterfall. Special pumps and tubing circulate the aquatic landscape. The waterfall should ideally be installed at the time of the pond installation. Check with your utility company about underground lines and pipes before digging and be sure to have an electrician install a ground fault interrupter for your pump. Natural elevation and boulder placement would allow for better flow. Your PVC liner should reach along the waterfall's path to reroute water and prevent leakage (hold the liner in place with smaller rock that also camouflage). Fountain statues are another aquatic feature that can be installed with the help of do-it-yourself kits. Just follow directions no matter which type of waterfall or water feature plan you are installing.
