Other Landscape Design
Landscape themes certainly do not have to be based on various geographical looks of the world, such as Tuscany and Japan; many people choose to design their landscape simply around their hobbies and daily life, around the things that please them most in life.
A sporting landscape theme accommodates certain games you love to play, such as tennis or soccer. A grass tennis court can be a beautiful way to fill you outdoor space (given that your property is large enough, of course). Courts or grass expanses for soccer can be tastefully lined with shrubs, flowers and your favorite hardy trees. If you are a sports lover, why not purchase used soccer balls or basketballs to fashion fun planters out of? These charmingly sporty planters can be placed next to entryways or beside outdoor furniture.
A fragrance landscape theme fills your yard with the scents you adore most in the world. Lilac and honeysuckle are wonderful choices that not only scent your landscape with a touch of paradise, but grow beautiful blossoms in the spring. For fall fragrance, choose scented geraniums and subtle roses. Lavender, lemon balm and rosemary give off herbal scents that can be dried and used as pomander and potpourri throughout the year!
Child friendly landscape themes take your little ones into consideration, particularly safety issues. Rounded planters and flower beds buffer possible run-ins. Child landscape ponds are shallow and are enclosed with some sort of frame design that deters the children from stopping through. Hilly or rocky areas can be covered over sod and soil and made into fantasy island play areas. You lawn may include a jungle gym to let the children burn off some puerile steam.
